Suction Corer samples the near seabed in ocean depths for geochemical, geological and geotechnical analysis

Svitzer Surveys has a patented a coring system for use in ocean depths. This system uses the suction anchor principle to embed itself in the seabed, collecting samples in the core tube in the process. Once full depth is achieved the pump is reversed and the corer rejects itself from the seabed and can be winched or floated to the sea surface.
